CSX Y Symbol Pictures

The Y Symbol is used for yard switchers that do not leave their yard. Numbers may be duplicated where there is no conflict from another yard train in a yard that uses the same radio channels or answers to the same dispatcher. The leading digit indicates the shift on which the crew will begin their work and 1, 2, & 3 are also used for regular crews, and 4 is used for extras any time of day.

Y Local
The Y symbol is used for Yrd Switchers that do not leave the yard they work in.
The first digit indicates the eight hour shift they start in.
The last two digits increment up when crews may work in the same yard or are close and may be on the same radio channel.
